FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS

DOES RADON HAVE AN ODOR?

No, radon is odorless and cannot be detected by smell.

CAN YOU MITIGATE RADON YOURSELF?

In accordance with state regulations, the EPA strongly advises homeowners to engage the services of a licensed professional for the installation of a radon mitigation system in their homes.

DOES RADON MITIGATION REALLY WORK?

Yes! While it's impossible to mitigate radon entirely down to level 0 pCi/L, our systems move radon gas out of the home and remove radon to a level that is as low as possible.

WHY IS BREATHING RADON GAS HARMFUL?

Radon decay particles, which are radioactive, can become attached to airborne particles within our homes. When we breathe in these particles, they can transform the tissues in our lungs, potentially leading to lung cancer over an extended period of time. The risk of developing lung cancer increases with higher radon levels and longer durations of exposure to the gas.

HOW IS A RADON TEST PERFORMED?

The U.S. Office of the Surgeon General, EPA, and Health Canada all recommend regular radon testing for homes, ideally every 2 years or more frequently. To ensure accurate results, it is best to opt for a professionally calibrated radon monitor like a CRM Test, which can be set up by a licensed and trained specialist. These tests provide detailed hour-by-hour data, offering a comprehensive understanding of the radon levels in your home within just a few days. If you are interested in scheduling such a test, please contact our team for more information.

HOW LONG DO RADON TESTS TAKE?

Short-term radon tests typically span a duration of 48 to 96 hours, providing a snapshot of radon levels during that period. On the other hand, long-term radon tests are conducted over an extended period, ranging from 30 days to a year. These tests offer a more comprehensive and accurate assessment of average radon levels over an extended timeframe.

ARE ALL RADON MITIGATORS THE SAME?

The answer is no. Just as in any other industry, the level of knowledge and professionalism can vary significantly from one company to another. However, at our company, we pride ourselves on standing out from the rest.

Our primary objective is to provide a consistent, enjoyable, and comprehensive experience for all our customers. We achieve this by arriving early in clean vehicles and attire, dedicating ample time to each customer during consultations, offering education on the installation process and our range of products, and ensuring that we treat their homes and time with the utmost respect. If the customer decides to proceed with the installation, our cutting-edge supplies and system designs guarantee a reliable product and an effective reduction of radon levels.

We go the extra mile to ensure that our customers' homes are cared for as if they were our own, and we prioritize their comfort and satisfaction throughout the entire process. This commitment is evident in the numerous 5-star reviews we have received, with clients often taking the time to provide lengthy descriptions of the exceptional experience they had with us.

MY NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE TESTED HIGH FOR RADON; DOES THAT MEAN MINE WILL TOO?

It is possible but not definitive, as there are numerous variables to consider. Radon levels can vary significantly throughout the day and differ from one home to another due to various factors. These factors include the presence and decay rate of uranium, radium, thorium, and other radioactive elements in the soil surrounding the structure. Additionally, the insulation of the home plays a role in radon concentration since a well-ventilated building allows some radon to escape, while a tightly insulated structure may trap air (including radon) inside.

The only way to accurately determine the radon level in a structure or home is through testing.
